On June 8, 2006 the Bradley Task Force 52 was mobilized to Avon as part of a drill. This was the first activation of the task force which consists of Engines, Ladders, Rescues and other fire equipment from fire departments in north central CT. The task force is used as part of the statewide "Red Plan" which is used when a large scale incident requires mutual aid from outside agencies. This drill tested mobilization and communications.
