NEWS FROM AROUND HARTFORD COUNTY

The November meeting of the Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan will be on Wednesday November 19th, 2008 at 1900 hours and hosted by the Avon Fire Department at their Darling Drive Station. A traditional Turkey Dinner will be served. RSVP is required. Avon Fire Chief Jamie DiPace has requested that you either e-mail him at jdipace@avonvfd.org or call him 860 677-2644 and leave a message with Jane by Friday November 14th if you plan on attending.

A presentation will be made by Colchester Hayward Fire Chief Walter Cox on this past June 13th fire at the M&J Recycling Facility.

BENEFIT DINNER / GATHERING

A Benefit Dinner sponsored by The Plainville Fire Company for Firefighter Bruce Bull to be held on Sunday December 7th 2008 3:00pm-9:00pm at the VFW Hall Northwest Drive, Plainville, CT.

The cost of this benefit is $25.00 per person/$40.00 per couple. Beer, Wine and setups Served, BYOB. For Ticket Information call 860 747-2521 Evenings or contact Captain Moschini at the firehouse.

HARTFORD COUNTY FIRE EMERGENCY PLAN FIFTY-EIGHT ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DECEASED FIREFIGHTERS

At this time, I would like to extend a warm "THANK YOU" to all the firefighters, their families, and friends who attended the 58th Hartford County Annual Memorial Service for Deceased Firefighters on Sunday October 5, 2008 that was hosted by the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department . Because of your participation and support at this year's event, it was a huge success. Thank you once again to see you there for next year's memorial service.

At this time we at Hartford County are asking if any county department would like to host the 2009 annual Hartford County Memorial Service. A SAFETY TIP FOR ALL

As many as you know we turn back the clocks at 2am on Sunday November 2, 2008 and by doing this it is time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO detectors. Also after putting in new batteries also test your detectors and as always check with the directions with the manufacturing that made your detectors.
