NEWS FROM AROUND THE COUNTY

The Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at Bradley Field Airport Fire Department Station One on Spring Lane Ext. Windsor Locks, CT.  The meeting will begin at 19:00 hours.  Again this year Chief Duffy and Deputy Chief Whalen has extend there invitational to the county to see what new equipment your department have in your stations and he wants you to bring then to the meeting at the airport and to let the plan membership to view all the new apparatus. If all Hartford County members come early you can view all the new apparatus from 18:00 hours to 19:00 hours.

Also Chief Duffy and Deputy Chief Whalen will have on display the ARFF trucks, the nozzle piercing device, command trailer, Mass casualty trailer and the Department of Justice decontamination trailer.  The meeting will be held in the training room on the second floor overlooking the airport runway.  So to all County Departments , come out and show support to the crew at the airport that help in protecting us to see that all flights come in and go out safe and to act and be prepared to meet any emergency situation that their need to handle and also a cook out will be served after the meeting

HARTFORD COUNTY FIRE EMERGENCY PLAN ANNUAL DINNER MEETING

Can you believe that the “2007" Annual Dinner Meeting of the Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan is just around the corner? The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Farmington, 162 Town Farm Road, Farmington, CT.  With a social hour beginning at 6:30 PM with dinner to follow. Tickets are on sale now and will be available at the May 16, Plan Meeting at Bradley the cost of $20 each and can be obtained from any board member or by calling me, John Coelho at 860 793-0871 or my cell at 860 573-5641

This year’s keynote guest speaker for the County’s Annual Dinner meeting will be M.SGT. Robert Cross, Chief of the CT. Air National Guard Fire Department will do a presentation that night on the capabilities of the CT. Air National Guard Fire Department and some resources that they offer to the region.  The CT. Air National Guard Fire Department is a member of our Task Force 52 with the Departments surrounding Bradley Field and has some great resources for us.

To all County Chiefs, Training Officers and House Captains, if there are any changes or information about your department that needs sharing, please let me know ASAP, so that I can include it in the next print of the Hoseline. If there has been a line of Duty Death, a department member has answered his or her last alarm, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can make sure that their name is added to the list and not forgotten at the Annual Hartford County Memorial Service which is held in October during National Fire Prevention Week. Also if someone is sick or in the hospital please forward me their names so it can be read off at the board meetings and plan meetings.
