The Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Wethersfield Fire Company One. Main Street, Wethersfield, CT. The meeting will begin at 19:00 hours.

FROM THE HARTFORD COUNTY CONGRATULATIONS TO FIRE MARSHAL VINCENT “VINNIE” DIPIETRO

On March 2, 2008 a retirement party was held in honor of longtime Fire Marshal Vincent “Vinnie” DiPietro is fond of saying, “Hey, I didn’t make the world combustible.” We at Hartford County want to wish you well in your retirement and stay safe and take care of you.

A SAFETY TIP FOR ALL

As many as you know we turn the clocks ahead on Sunday March 9, 2008 at 2am and by doing this it is time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO detectors. Also after putting in new batteries also test your detectors and as always check with the directions with the manufacturing that made your detectors.

I also realize that it is only February and June seems far away but circle this date June 18th on your calendar. That is the date for the Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan Annual Dinner Meeting which is held at the Farmington Club in Farmington, CT. More information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date so watch for more information in the Hoseline.

HARTFORD COUNTY FIRE EMERGENCY PLAN FIFTY-EIGHT ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DECEASED FIREFIGHTERS

This year’s memorial service will be hosted by the Wethersfield Fire Department. More information will be forthcoming as we get closer TBA so watch for more information in the Hoseline.

To all County Chiefs, Training Officers and House Captain, If there are any changes or information about your department that needs sharing, please let me know ASAP, so that I can include it in the next print of the Hoseline. If there has been a line of Duty Death, a department member has answered his or her last alarm. Please let me know as soon as possible so that I can make sure that their name is added to the list and not forgotten at the Annual Hartford County Memorial Service which is held during National Fire Prevention Week. Also if someone is sick or in the hospital forward me their names so it can be read off at the board meetings and plan meetings.
