NEWS FROM AROUND HARTFORD COUNTY
The New England Fire/Rescue/EMS 2008 show will be held June 18 thru 22, 2008. The committee invites you to join them at the Sheraton Springfield Hotel and the Eastern States Exposition (Home of the Big E) in West Springfield, MA for the Annual Conference & Exposition. The Plainville Fire Company's 24th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held this year on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th at Norton Park, South Washington Street, (Route 177) Plainville, CT. On Friday night a Hot Air Balloon Glow and Fireworks display will take place. There are also many other activities planned throughout the weekend including a crafts fair. NEW EQUIPMENT IN THE HARTFORD COUNTY
Broad Brook has taken delivery of a new engine tanker which holds 1500 gals of water.
Hamilton Sundstrand has a new pumper with a 1000 gal tank.
Bradley Airport Fire Department has taken delivery of a new Seagrave pumper.
CLOSING REMARKS FROM SECRETARY JOHN COELHO
All the Firefighter I and Firefighter II courses are complete. With that means the dinner meeting is just around the corner and summertime is here. That means it's time to give thanks to Chet Haber, Training Director; First and Second Assistants Mike Jepeal and James Baldis; Pat Haber, County Clerk and the rest of the instructors. THANKS for all of your time and the effort in making the Hartford County Regional Fire School and the Fire Academy the huge success that it is today. I would also like to take a moment to thank all of the fire departments from Hartford County and the other counties around the state for sending your personnel to the school for training.
The board of directors, county clerks, instructors and training directors want to wish all fire service members and their families a GREAT and SAFE summer. See everyone in September.
