HARTFORD COUNTY FIRE EMERGENCY PLAN ANNUAL DINNER MEETING

Still thinking about attending the 2008 Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan Annual Dinner Meeting? Well, your last chance to make your reservation is June 10th as there will be no tickets sold the night of the event. Tickets cost $20 per person and can be obtained from any board member or by calling me, John Coelho, at (860)793-0871. You may speak to my wife or leave a message with the number of tickets you need. You will be put on the list and your tickets will be waiting for you at the dinner. The dinner meeting is scheduled for Wednesday June 18th at the Farmington Club, 162 Town Farms Road, Farmington, CT. A social hour will begin at 6:30pm with dinner to follow. This is a great time to come out and see old friends and meet new ones too.

The Connecticut Statewide Honor Guard will post the colors at the event. This year's keynote guest speaker for the County's Annual Dinner meeting will be Commissioner James Thomas of the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. He will give an overview on the Department, what it does, and what it can deliver to the County departments.

Remember!!!! Circle the date "June 18th 2008" on your calendar. Call for your tickets before the June 10th deadline and we look forward to seeing you at this year's gala event.

HARTFORD COUNTY FIRE EMERGENCY PLAN FIFTY-EIGHT ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DECEASED FIREFIGHTERS

This year's memorial service will be hosted by the Wethersfield Fire Department. The date for this service is October, 5th 2008. Watch for more information on times and the church service in the upcoming Hoseline.

To all County Chiefs, Training Officers and House Captains. If there are any changes or information about your department that needs to be shared, please let us know ASAP so it can be included in the next edition of the Hoseline.

If there has been a line of Duty Death or a department member has answered his or her last alarm, please let us know as soon as possible. Their name will be added to the deceased firefighters list and they will be remembered at the Annual Hartford County Memorial Service which is held during National Fire Prevention Week. Also, please let us know if anyone in your Department is sick or in the hospital. NEWS FROM AROUND HARTFORD COUNTY

The New England Fire/Rescue/EMS 2008 show will be held June 18 thru 22, 2008. The committee invites you to join them at the Sheraton Springfield Hotel and the Eastern States Exposition (Home of the Big E) in West Springfield, MA for the Annual Conference & Exposition. There will be apparatus on display as well as exhibits of fire, EMS and related equipment. For more information about the show you can visit their website at www.newenglandfirechiefs.org.

The Plainville Fire Company's 24th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held this year on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th at Norton Park, South Washington Street, (Route 177) Plainville, CT. On Friday night a Hot Air Balloon Glow and Fireworks display will take place. There are also many other activities planned throughout the weekend including a crafts fair. NEW EQUIPMENT IN THE HARTFORD COUNTY

Broad Brook has taken delivery of a new engine tanker which holds 1500 gals of water.

Hamilton Sundstrand has a new pumper with a 1000 gal tank.

Bradley Airport Fire Department has taken delivery of a new Seagrave pumper.

All the Firefighter I and Firefighter II courses are complete. With that means the dinner meeting is just around the corner and summertime is here. That means it's time to give thanks to Chet Haber, Training Director; First and Second Assistants Mike Jepeal and James Baldis; Pat Haber, County Clerk and the rest of the instructors. THANKS for all of your time and the effort in making the Hartford County Regional Fire School and the Fire Academy the huge success that it is today. I would also like to take a moment to thank all of the fire departments from Hartford County and the other counties around the state for sending your personnel to the school for training.

The board of directors, county clerks, instructors and training directors want to wish all fire service members and their families a GREAT and SAFE summer. See everyone in September.
